Each upazila has a social service office. This office is managed by the Department of Social Services under the Ministry of Social Welfare and is controlled by the Deputy Director of the District.

Activities:
Notable programs of the Upazila Social Service Office are: Socio-economic development services, rural social service activities, rural maternity centers, acid burn and rehabilitation activities for the disabled, shelter / housing activities. Among the social security programs are old age allowance program, indigent disability allowance program, widow non-husband abandoned distressed woman allowance, freedom fighter honorarium allowance and education stipend program for disabled students. Issuance of Disability Certificate under the activities of protection, compliance, development and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. Probation and After Care Services under the development and rehabilitation activities of vagrants and social crime prone. Conducting women's socio-economic training centers under the Skill Development Training Program. Registration and supervision of voluntary social welfare organizations under the registration and assistance program. Performing capitation grants in private orphanages, providing grants to organizations registered through the Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council, conducting activities with voluntary organizations, providing assistance to solve social problems for the welfare of the people in addition to the responsibilities assigned by the Election Commission.
